Privacy Notice

In relation to the General Data Protection Regulation law (GDPR), therapists are required to meet its terms.

GDPR law aims to protect the secure and responsible use of personal data including the protection of privacy.

By taking part in therapy you give permission as outlined below.

  • Only information will be held about you that is relevant to supporting therapy.  This is likely to include personal contact details, date of birth, registered GP with details of prescribed medication, and case notes relating to therapy

  • Your therapy is private and confidential.  The only terms where this may not apply are where you present as a significant risk of harm either to yourself or to others or for anonymous discussion in supervision

  • All information held about you is stored either in lockable or password protected storage

  • Written communications with you may be kept by text, email or similar. I will keep these communications confidential, however, please note that unless encrypted, they are not guaranteed as a fully secure means of communication

  • To protect the privacy of video and audio calls please ensure that the security of your phone/ computer is up to date.  I will take the same measures with mine

  • All information about you will be stored for up to 6 years from the point of discharge and then deleted

  • My practice is registered with ICO. In the unlikely circumstance that you feel unable to resolve any concerns directly with me, you have the right to contact The Information Commisioner’s Office directly via their website:  https://ico.org.uk/. The ICO upholds information rights on behalf of the public
